

Chrysler Russia SAO has made public the results of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge car sales in Russia during the first six months of 2008. Through its official dealer network the Chrysler Company has sold 4638 cars, which is 69% more than during the same period in 2007, and 14% more by now than during all year in 2006. It is the best result achieved in the entire history of official sales in Russia. As before, the maximum growth was achieved by Dodge that put on 115%. Sales by Chrysler Russia SAO have been growing at a higher rate as compared with those in the Russian foreign car market which made a 47% increase during the same period, according to the Committee of Auto Manufacturers of the European Business Association in Russia.
Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge have strengthened their position in Russia as a result of the brand lineup renewal, brand promotion in Russian regions and due to marketing activities, including measures to raise the brand recognizability.

Chrysler sales have grown by 19% and 811 cars were sold in the first half of 2008, which is the best result achieved by the brand since the time when the company began collecting statistics. This positive trend was set primarily by the leading vehicle in the lineup, Chrysler 300C, a sedan and station wagon in the E-segment and Sebring, a new sedan in the D-segment.
The 300С model modified in 2008 arrived in car dealer showrooms early this year and made the fans of prestigious classic cars happy by introducing new versions of car painting, a fresh design of wheel disks, a new MyGIG multimedia system and other novelties. The car interior was considerably improved and gave the car a more luxurious look. It should be noted that in the course of the first six months of the year, the Chrysler 300C model was often observed in a company fit for its social status. It provided support to publication of the first glossy magazine in Russia on art and art lifestyle, BLACKSQUARE, and was the official car of the 19th Kinotavr Open Russian Film Festival and the Playboy magazine party, Playmate of the Year.
Sales of the new Sebring have grown by 44%, and the car market in the D-segment witnessed at the same time a 29% increase. This may be regarded as a starting figure. The car received a great advertizing support. Sebring was a partner of the actress, Ksenia Rappoport in the film, St. George’s Day by Kirill Serebrennikov. At Kinotavr-2000, Ksenia had won a prize for the best female role. Russians will be able to see the work of the duet next autumn when the film will go on the screen in Russia.
Besides, a Chrysler Sebring Cabrio cabriolet arrived on the Russian market in June; it is delivered to Russia both in a convertible and a hardtop version. Its price (1,021,700 rubles or $ 43,700) makes the cabriolet one of the most attractive offers in its segment.
The Second Half of the Year Promises to Be Even More Successful
The excellent results of the first six months raise the company’s hopes that this tendency will continue. The reason for optimistic expectations is also given by new cars whose sales have already started or will start in the near future.
Chrysler sales in the second half of the year will be affected by a new Chrysler Grand Voyager that arrived in official dealer outlets just in June and received by now a positive response from customers.
